About Us

"The finest cup is not about the loudest roast — it is about the quietest clarity."

Zara Coffee Roasters

Our Story

Zara Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee destination at the heart of DIFC, dedicated to the art and science of exceptional coffee. We source from small-lot farms across Ethiopia, Yemen, Colombia, and Kenya — every origin chosen for its clarity of character.

Our espresso bar, filter bar, and kitchen share one ethos — unhurried precision. Every cup is prepared with care for the origin, the process, and the person receiving it.

We believe specialty coffee should be accessible without being dumbed down. Our menu is designed to welcome the novice and satisfy the expert — whether your entry point is a flat white or a naturally processed Ethiopian pour-over, there is a place for you at our bar.

Open seven days a week at Gate Village 5, we welcome those who take their coffee seriously, and those who are just beginning to.

Philosophy

How We Roast

🌱

Sourcing

Direct & Traceable

Every origin on our menu is traceable to a named farm or cooperative. We work with importers who pay above-market prices and invest in producer communities.

🔥

Roasting

Light & Intentional

We roast to highlight what the farmer grew, not to mask it. Our profiles are developed to bring forward the natural characteristics of each origin without over-development.

⚗️

Dialling

Precision at the Bar

Each batch is dialled in fresh every morning. We log every shot: dose, yield, time, and temperature. Consistency is not luck — it is data and discipline.

Where We Source

Our Origins

Africa

Ethiopia · Kenya

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe and Sidama — floral, bergamot, tea-like clarity. Kenya AB from the Central Highlands — black-currant, tomato, brightness that lingers.

Arabia

Yemen Haraaz

Naturally processed on raised beds in the mountain terraces of Haraaz. Dried fruit, dark chocolate, and warm spice — a coffee unlike any other on earth.

Americas

Colombia · Guatemala

Colombia Huila — smooth caramel and red apple sweetness. Guatemala Antigua — dark chocolate, brown sugar, a hint of smoke from volcanic ash-rich soils.

East Africa

Rwanda · Brazil

Rwanda Nyungwe — stone fruit, honey, and delicate florals. Brazil Cerrado — our cold brew workhorse: chocolate and nuts, smooth and clean over 18 hours.

Gate Village 5 · DIFC · Dubai
